C&C's Famous Special Brownie Recipe

3–4 minutes

Good evening folks. I hope you enjoy this tried and true recipe for making very special brownies. When I made these brownies, I had to go scouring the internet for the various steps, and through my own experimentation I found that this recipe really works. Anyway I’ll stop the intro right there because I always hate how when you find a recipe online you have to scroll past a 50 page autobiography of the author in which you find out way more about why they decided to put their recipe on the internet than you ever cared to know.

So it’s off to the races! And just remember not to eat the whole batch 😉

Total Prep Time: ~ 1 hour

What you’ll need:

1 Mason Jar with lid

1 Brownie pan

Parchment Paper

BHO (butane hash oil) (how much, you might ask? Refer to Step 4)

Coconut Oil

Eggs

Water

Electric mixer (this device is crucial and cannot be substituted)

Duncan Hines Brownie mix

Measuring cups, utensils, mixing bowls etc.

What you do:

Step 1: Decarboxylate BHO (to make it psychoactive by ingestion).

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.
  • Place desired amount of BHO on parchment paper and gently place the parchment paper side down inside an upright mason jar.
  • Tighten the lid of the jar and place in oven in upright position (you can place the mason jar directly on the rack or you can place it on a baking tray).
  • Bake for about 20 minutes, or until you see that the BHO is bubbling.
  • Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature. Note that some of the BHO may have melted off the parchment paper and onto the bottom of the jar. This is normal, do not fret.
  • Close lid tightly and place jar in the freezer for at least 20 minutes or until future use.
Step 2: Dissolve BHO in Coconut oil.
  • Remove jar from Step 1 from the freezer and with a knife scrape all the BHO off the parchment paper back into the jar. It should come off the parchment paper easily in flakes and chunks.
  • Discard parchment paper. Now all that’s left in the jar is the decarboxylated BHO.
  • Determine how much coconut oil to use for your brownie recipe (coconut oil will replace vegetable oil 1:1 in the Duncan Hines recipe).
  • Place desired amount of coconut oil into a microwave safe container.
  • Melt coconut oil in microwave until fully liquified and hot (~20-30 seconds).
  • Pour melted coconut oil into the BHO jar.
  • Stir until BHO is fully dissolved in the warm coconut oil.
Step 3: Baking the brownies.
  • Follow the directions for your favorite brownie recipe, just replacing the oil with your very special BHO oil created in Steps 1&2!
  • It is extremely important to create a homogenous mixture, otherwise you might have “hotspots” in your brownies. You can avoid hotspots by mixing the BHO-coconut oil combo in first with the other wet ingredients using an electric mixer. Mix for at least 2 minutes on medium. Then again using electric mixer, mix the wet stuff into the dry ingredients for at least 5 minutes on medium-high.
Step 4: Cut the brownies as desired.
  • This step will determine the relative strength of each piece. You’ll have to do your own calculations for this step, depending on how much BHO you choose to use and the percentage of T. H. C. in the BHO.
  • First, you need to determine the percentage of T. H. C. in your BHO (to this end, I suggest using BHO from a local Massachusetts dispensary, because by law it must have a label with the percentage of T. H. C.).
  • Let’s just say you used 1 gram (1000 mg) of BHO with 90% (0.9) T. H. C.:
    • This means you have 900 mg of T. H. C. total in the batch:
      • 900 mg / 20 pieces = 45 mg of T. H. C. in each brownie
      • 900 mg / 16 pieces = 56.25 mg of T. H. C. in each brownie
  • *Note*: You can feel the effects of 5 mg of T. H. C. or less, just to give you some perspective… 50-75 mg is considered a very strong dose. I’d suggest testing out what dose you like best before trying this at home.
Happy Baking ❤
